# How to Wash Your Car Properly (and Actually Enjoy It)
Washing your car doesn’t have to be a chore. Do it right, and it’s a solid excuse to spend time outside, crank your favorite playlist, and make your ride look (and smell) amazing. Here’s how to get it done—no fancy talk, just real steps that work.
## 1. Gather Your Stuff
Don’t start and then realize you’re missing half the gear. Here’s what you need:
- Two buckets (one for soapy water, one for rinsing)
- Microfiber wash mitt or sponge
- Good car soap (not dish soap—seriously, don’t do it)
- Soft microfiber towels for drying
- Wheel brush (optional, but worth it)
- HELKRAFTE’s foam wash or power soap (trust us, it’s not watered down)
- Tire shine and quick detailer for that finishing touch
## 2. Pick the Right Spot
Shade is your friend. Sun makes soap dry too fast and leaves spots. Drive into the shade, or wash early/late in the day.
## 3. Rinse First
Blast off loose dirt with water before you touch the paint. This keeps you from rubbing grit into your car and scratching it up.
## 4. Two-Bucket Method—No Shortcuts
Fill one bucket with clean water, one with soapy water. Dunk your mitt in the soap, wash a section, rinse it in the clean bucket, and repeat. Work top to bottom. Wheels and lower panels are last—they’re the dirtiest.
## 5. Don’t Forget the Details
Use a wheel brush or old mitt for wheels and tires. Spray on HELKRAFTE tire shine for that “just detailed” look.
## 6. Rinse Again
Get all the soap off. Missed suds = streaks.
## 7. Dry With Microfiber
Skip the old bath towel. Use microfiber towels and gently pat the car dry. Less friction, less scratching.
## 8. Quick Detailer = Extra Shine
Spritz HELKRAFTE quick detailer on the paint and wipe down with a clean microfiber. It adds shine and a little protection.
## 9. Make It Smell as Good as It Looks
Finish with a HELKRAFTE car parfum. It’s the only one like it, and you’ll notice the difference every time you open the door.

### Quick Tips
- Wash every 2-3 weeks for best results.
- Never wash in direct sun if you can help it.
- Always use clean towels and mitts—dirty ones scratch.
- Don’t forget to clean the inside sometimes (but that’s another post).
